The Process

Simple. Transparent.
You pay nothing upfront.

We search all 50 states and federal sources, find what's yours, handle the paperwork, and collect a fee only after you've been paid.

We are not a government agency. FindYourMoney.AI is a private, licensed unclaimed property recovery service based in Tennessee. The government does not charge fees to search or claim — and neither do we for the search. Our fee applies only if we successfully recover property on your behalf, and only after you authorize us in writing. You always have the right to claim directly from any state at no cost.
1

We find property in your name

Our AI searches the official unclaimed property databases maintained by all 50 states, plus five federal sources — PBGC pension records, FDIC failed-bank deposits, SEC enforcement funds, Railroad Retirement benefits, and federal bankruptcy court distributions.

We run your name against every source simultaneously. A typical search covers 200+ million records in under 90 seconds. The search is always free.

2

You see exactly what we found — before signing anything

We show you the specific property: the state holding it, the original holder (bank, employer, or insurer), the property type, and the estimated value. You see all of this before we ask you to sign anything.

This is legally required in several states (including California) and is our policy everywhere. No surprises, no bait-and-switch. If you decide not to use our service after seeing the results, that's fine — we'll point you to the right state portal to claim directly.

3

You sign a Recovery Agreement

If you want us to handle the claim, you sign a simple, plain-English Recovery Agreement electronically. It authorizes us to act on your behalf with the state, specifies our fee percentage (capped by state law), and includes a Letter of Direction — a legal instrument that gives us standing to file and correspond with the state treasury.

Our fee ranges from 10–15% of the recovered amount, capped by your state's statutes. If we don't recover your property, you owe us nothing.

4

We handle everything with the state

We prepare and submit all claim documentation, coordinate identity verification, respond to state requests for additional information, and follow up until the claim is resolved. Most states process claims in 60–120 days. We handle the entire process — you don't need to contact the state at all.

5

The state pays you. You pay us.

Most states issue payment directly to you by check or ACH. Once you receive your funds, you remit our fee per the agreement — typically by check or electronic transfer. That's it. The recovery is complete.

Average recovery time: 60–120 days from signed agreement.
Average claim value in our database: $400–$2,500.

Common Questions

Is the search really free?
Yes, completely. We search all 50 states and federal sources at no charge. Our business model is contingency-only — we invest our time and resources upfront and earn a fee only when we successfully recover funds for you.
Can I claim the property myself without using your service?
Yes. Every state allows you to claim directly at no cost. If you find a match through our search, we are happy to tell you exactly which state portal to use. Our service exists for people who would rather not deal with the paperwork, documentation, and follow-up involved in the claims process.
How do you know the property is really mine?
We match your name against records that include the name and last known address on file with the original holder (the bank, employer, or insurer that turned the money over to the state). When you verify your identity through our portal, we cross-reference this data. States also require identity documentation before releasing funds — typically a government-issued ID and proof of address history.
What if my name is common — how do I know it's mine?
Our system cross-references multiple data points: your name, address history, the original financial institution, and the property type. When you click your verification link, we walk you through a simple confirmation step — typically confirming a previous address or the name of the institution that held your account. You only see property details after verification, which protects everyone.
What is your fee?
Our standard fee is 10–15% of the recovered amount, depending on the state and complexity of the claim. Several states cap finder fees by law (California caps at 10%, New York at 15%, for example) — we always comply with these limits. Our exact fee for your specific claim is shown in the Recovery Agreement before you sign.
Is this a scam? How do I know you're legitimate?
Fair question. FindYourMoney.AI is a licensed Tennessee business. We do not ask for money upfront, we do not ask for your Social Security Number to search, and we do not contact you unless we've identified a specific property record in your name. The property we identify is publicly listed in official state databases — you can verify it yourself at your state's treasury website. We encourage you to do so.
What states do you cover?
All 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and five federal programs. Our AI searches every source simultaneously — you don't need to search state by state. If you've lived in multiple states, we find property in all of them.
I received an email from you — is it real?
If you received an email from @findyourmoney.ai, it is from us. We only send email to individuals for whom we have identified a specific, real property record. Our emails always include the state holding the property, the property type, and a unique verification link tied to your record. We never ask for payment information by email. If you're uncertain, call us directly at [PHONE] or search your name free at FindYourMoney.AI.
